National Great Rivers Museum, East Alton, IL

The National Great Rivers Museum tells the story of the confluence of three great rivers - the Mississippi, the Missouri and the Illinois in a comprehensive and compelling way.  Through the products available in JNPA's Confluence Store, visitors learn about the rivers' historical and cultural significance, their ecological, transportation and commercial importance, their power to inspire us and even about the natural forces that created and shape it to this day.

Nearby attractions include the 38-acre Illinois Esplanade; the Confluence Bikeway which connects the National Great Rivers Museum to the Lewis and Clark State Historic Site; Pere Marquette State Park; The Great River Road; and the Alton Riverfront and downtown.
