As seen on public broadcast television across the United States: From Thomas Jefferson, Lewis and Clark, and St. Louis' role in westward expansion to the construction of the largest stainless steel structure in history, this movie chronicles- for the first time- the complete story of a great American symbol: the Gateway Arch. Featuring newly discovered construction footage, rare photographs of westward expansion, early conceptual drawings by architect Eero Saarinen, and music by award-winning composer Tim Janis. Dozens of interviews include World Trade Center Master Plan architect Daniel Libeskind and New York-based architecture critic Jayne Merkel, along with the workers who built the monument that some said was impossible to build. The movie presents a message of optimism, the human capacity to pursue dreams and America's ability to achieve great things.

Narrated by academy award-winner Kevin Kline and produced by St. Louis-based Civil Pictures, producers of the national award-winning documentary "The World's Greatest Fair."
